Switzerland and Paraguay
Relations between Switzerland and Paraguay are handled by the Embassy of Switzerland in Montevideo, which manages diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. Consular matters are handled by the Regional Consular Centre in Buenos Aires, which is responsible, among other things, for issuing Swiss identity documents. Switzerland also has a Consulate General in Asunción, which can provide assistance to Swiss nationals travelling through the country who find themselves in difficulty due to illness, accident or theft, for example.
